Why see Les Miserables?

Do you hear the people sing?

St Louis, don your finest red and black and warm up your voices to sing along with Jean Valjean and the revolutionaries in the epic Les Miserables this summer. Victor Hugo's epic novel, published in 1862 was adapted into musical form in the 1980s and has since become one of the longest-running productions in the world. Appearing at The Muny for a strictly limited run you can finally stop dreaming the dream of seeing Les Mis on the stage, so get your tickets now!

What's it about?

Jean Valjean is an ex-convict struggling to make his way in the world after being unjustly imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. An act of kindness from a local priest sets him on a new course as he turns his life around. Flash forward 17 years and Paris is in disarray, the rich ruling class treating the working class with malcontent that none deserve. Tensions reach a tipping point and multiple stories come to a head in the epic musical.

Fantastic

When you pay $168.00 for 2 tickets you hope to get your money's worth. Les Miserable was SO WORTH IT. Dynamic story line. The entire cast was outstanding but the leading cast was better than any show we have seen at the Muny. Tremendous singing by ALL but when they sang as the entire cast...words can not describe how moving it was. Orchestra was spine tingling. If you can still get tickets...please do. You will not regret it. ... Read more

Just wonderful

I cannot believe the criticism of this remarkable production. We left the theater completely drained emotionally. The performers put their hearts into every word, every action. The seats were fine, except I always manage to have a tall person in front of me. ( I'm 4'10). We are from Pennsylvania and the theater was truly beautiful, the staff helpful and friendly. I would go again if our vacation wasn't ending soon. Valjean, Javert, such dynamics between the two. Little gavroche, powerful. Eponine displayed such feeling.. Poor reviews for this play are hard to fathom. Credit should be given to performers who have brought to life the greatest literature ever written. ... Read more
